Philosophy / Mission

Rawdon Elementary & Middle School is committed to the academic excellence of its students from Kindergarten to Secondary 2. REMS fosters academic achievement, bilingualism, computer literacy, and an appreciation of community. In a supportive and effective learning environment, REMS develops students' competencies and self-discipline, and encourages responsible citizenship.


General Information

The school is nestled in a beautiful forested area at the north end of the Rawdon village. Rawdon Elementary and Middle School's new building opened on January 11, 2000. This modern school has many excellent facilities such as a high-functioning computer lab and library with Internet connection. Rawdon School dates back to 1823 and has always been a stronghold of the greater Rawdon community. Formerly on Metcalfe Street, its new location is at 4121 Queen Street.


Parent Participation

REMS parents play a vital role in helping the school reach its educational goals and are active contributors to school life. The Governing Board plays an instrumental role in decision-making regarding the school's policies and directions. The Parent Participation Organization supports school activities. Parents continue to assist in various extracurricular and curricular activities.

Rawdon Elementary & Middle School is a middle school and, as such offers a community-based quality education to students from Kindergarten to Secondary 2. In this community of learners, students develop partnerships and interact with various age groups in family settings. ln a safe and motivating learning environment, our elementary students are supported and guided from Kindergarten to their formative adolescent years.
