Aesop was born around 620 BC. He was a slave, and he had two masters that lived in Samos, Xanthius and Jadmon. The second master set Aesop free because he was witty and intelligent. He became a freedman. He traveled a lot, to Sardis, Lydia. He raised himself to a position renown. He started to write fables in Greece.
He was executed as a public criminal because he didnít want to divide the money given to him by Croesus. Instead, he sent it back to his master. He was honored with a statue in Athens.
