MUSIC CONCENTRATION & THE MUSIC PROGRAM

Our Music Concentration program develops young musicians from secondary 3 to secondary 5.  Students generally enter the program with a music background (personal or Laval Junior music concentration), however this is not a pre-requisite for the program.  What is certain is that students develop their musical talent to their full potential with the guidance and direction of our music teacher, Mrs. Elaine Thomas.

The Laval Liberty Concert Band annually performs several concerts which include a holiday concert, an end-of-year concert, live music for the school's annual musical production and a tour of elementary schools and senior homes.  The Concert Band also performs at special events.

Students in music concentration can also take part in our Marching Band and Drumline.  Each of these also performs at special events such as football games, galas and ceremonies.

Regular students can take music as an option course in secondary 3, 4 and 5.  These courses are meant to be introductory courses and require students to learn an instrument and play in school concerts.

Course Outline Description 2014-2015
