3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

October 1 – October 31, 2011
Students organized and created the first annual 3 on 3 basketball tournament at lunch times 3 times a week. Students created the rules, the round robin and play-off schedule, recorded statistics, refereed games, and oversaw the entire process. A student DJ played the music and over 250 students who watched daily on the balcony while cheering on their team.

 

• 48 students played in this first annual tournament.
• 25 students oversaw the implementation and organization of the tournament.
• Students ranged in age from 14 to 17 years old.

Liberty Indoor Soccer Championship

November 1 – December 22, 2011
The Liberty Indoor Soccer Championship plays 4 days a week at lunch times. Students create the rules, create the round robin and play-off schedule, record statistics, referee games, and oversee the entire process. A student DJ plays the music and over 250 students watch daily on the balcony while cheering on their team.

• 110 students played on 10 teams.
• 25 students oversee the implementation and organization of the tournament.
• Each team was co-ed.
• Players range in age from 14 to 17 years old.

United Students Sport Federation

Executive
Student met for 3 hours per week to organize tournaments and school wide activity. The U.S.S.F. organized and helped to promote the Olympic Torch in Laval and the 2010 Olympics and Paralympic Games.

 

The U.S.S.F. executive involves over 25 students ranging in age from 14 to 17. There are approximately 15 boys and 10 girls on the U.S.S.F.

Yoga

Yoga for girls is a 8 week once a week session.
20 girls attend weekly.
There is a demand for a second group this year but we do not have the funding for a full session.
Yoga could be a full year twice a week program at LLHS with full funding.

Liberty Ice Hockey Federation - LIHF

February 5 – March 15
Students established 4 ice hockey teams to play in a 3 on 3 ice hockey league to play after school weekly.

Festivus

February 20-Feb. 24

Special Events to create mental health awarness.

Panthers Cup

March 1- May 5

Over 200students will play on co-ed teams for the right to hold the Panthers Cup!

Panthers World Cup Soccer

April - May

15 teams of 15 students will play for the world Cup this spring
