Principal's Message

2008-2009 promises to be an exciting school year at St. Jude Elementary. I welcome all new families to our school and wish all of you a very pleasant school year filled with academic success and good times.

To parents and families:

I encourage parents and families to participate in the child’s school life by joining various committees, attending parent nights and student activities and supporting the child with the accomplishment of his daily assignments. In order to be successful, children need to feel supported and encouraged and must feel that parents and families support and value their education. At St. Jude Elementary, we feel that a child’s success requires teamwork and cooperation between school staff, parents and families and the child.

To each student:

Do not hesitate to get involved in the social activities and to explore your interests. Be proud of yourself by doing your best and showing your best side at all times. Remember that you cannot be talented in all subjects but that you can always do your best and try a little harder in the subjects that are more difficult to you. Remember that practice is needed if one is to improve; therefore, homework is a very important part of success since it is the time for practice. I encourage you all but especially the older students to get involved in your school community by volunteering to help when help is required, by giving the good example to younger students and helping them.

Having high expectations for all students, I would like to see all of you aim for academic success and demonstrate your full potential. Although 08-09 is just starting, it is important to start it with the end in mind. Allow yourself to see and feel the success of the end of the year. Set goals that are attainable for yourself, then work towards realizing them one step at a time and don’t hesitate to ask for help. Before you know it, you will be a star.
