NATURE OF THE WORK
The education consultant participates in carrying out the educational project and the special projects of educational institutions; you will participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of their success plan, while complying with the academic and administrative requirements of both the educational institutions and the school board. In addition, you will be required to:
• Contribute to the implementation of programs of study and training notably the renewal of General Adult Education, provides advice to the teachers and administration concerning the interpretation of those programs, designs and leads training workshops and sessions on program components; collaborate in developing learning situations and supports experimentation in class.
• Provide advice and support to teachers either individually or in a group format in matters pertaining to their daily teaching activities;
• Provide teachers with learning evaluation tools and guide them in the design, preparation or adaptation of evaluation tools;
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to draw up and review the individualized education plan of a handicapped student or a student with social maladjustments or learning difficulties; and participate in defining intervention objectives and means.
• Work with teachers to prepare and implement strategies and projects aimed at helping students who are experiencing or who are likely to experience social maladjustments or learning difficulties;
• Collaborate with school resources, partner organizations and the Ministère de l’Éducation et L’Enseignement Supérieur (MEES) and ensure the promotion of the school board to the social and economic partners to draw up an appropriate promotional plan
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
• A Bachelor’s degree
• A permanent teaching diploma (brevet d’enseignement) issued by the Ministère de l’Éducation
• Excellent knowledge of English and French, both spoken and written;
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant teaching experience;
• Sound understanding of the programs of study in the Vocational Training Sector with the exception of Health
