Depending where your school is located on the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board’s territory, logistics regarding in-school vaccinations may vary. Working closely with the local CISSS, we are ensuring that resources are used to their optimal potential.

The campaign will start during the week of November 29, 2021. The goal of this campaign is to allow as many elementary students as possible to receive a first dose of the vaccine by the holiday break, thereby reducing the number of school outbreaks and closures in our elementary schools.

Should parents and guardians wish to have their children vaccinated, we encourage them to make an appointment via ClicSanté to book a date at their nearest public vaccination centre.

Should parents and guardians wish to have their children vaccinated via the in-school campaign, they should refer to the region in which their school is located (in sections below) for complete details on the logistics of the campaign. Note that children under 13 years old will not be vaccinated without parental consent. Prior to the in-school vaccinated date, parents and guardians will have received complete instructions for filling out and returning consent forms to their respective schools.

General Information for vaccination

Laval

The CISSS Laval will deploy vaccination teams in elementary schools for the in-school vaccination program. Below, you will find the dates at which elementary schools will be visited and students vaccinated.

Note that no parent will be able to accompany their child as part of the in-school vaccination campaign.  If you prefer to accompany your child during vaccination, you may make an appointment outside school hours for your child’s first dose at one of the public vaccination centres. This solution is also intended for students who are schooled at home and who will need to be vaccinated independently. To do so, visit ClicSanté.

Note that children will not be vaccinated without parental consent. Prior to the in-school vaccinated date, parents and guardians will have received complete instructions for filling out and returning consent forms to their respective schools.

Laurentides

In the Laurentides region, most of our schools will be paired with schools from the French sector to allow for a broader coverage of the territory. Indeed, the vaccination site will most probably not be at your child’s school, but in a nearby school. Should your child be vaccinated via the in-school vaccination program, transportation to and from the vaccination site will be ensured by the School Board.

Note that no parent will be able to accompany their child as part of the in-school vaccination campaign.  If you prefer to accompany your child during vaccination, you may make an appointment outside school hours for your child’s first dose at one of the public vaccination centres. Lanaudière

Children from the Lanaudière region may be vaccinated in one of the CISSS de Lanaudière’s COVID-19 vaccination centres, in Joliette or Repentigny. A schedule has been adapted to the reality of parents with extended hours in the evening and on the weekend. Visit the section Information sur la vaccination contre la COVID-19 (in French) at www.cisss-lanaudiere.gouv.qc.ca to find out the opening hours of the vaccination centres.

Two options are available to you:

  • By appointment: via ClicSanté
  • As of December 4: walk-in. You can bring your child without an appointment to the vaccination centre in Joliette or Repentigny, on Saturdays, from 9am to noon.

Vaccination in schools

Several schools in the region have also been selected as vaccination centres for young people in this age group in order to increase services close to home. Vaccinations will be given after school hours so that parents can accompany their children to their appointment.

Vaccination in schools will be available by appointment only and priority will be given to children ages 5 to 11, even if some time slots will be reserved for young people ages 12 to 17. You can book an appointment in a school online at the following website: https://clients3.clicsante.ca/67062/take-appt.
