From the time Rosemere High School opened its doors in the 60's, a football program was created. Throughout the years, the program has had its ups and downs until eventually and sadly it folded.   In 2005 Mr. Dave Donaldson approached Mr. Jason Puklicz, who at the time had coached the touch football team and they spoke about assembling a full contact team once again. From there, they spent countless hours researching, recruiting, ordering and training to compete in the Laurentien – Lanaudiere football league.

During the first two seasons the Raiders did not produce a win. But the love of the sport kept everyone pushing, training, dreaming...In their third year, these young athletes turned things around and  became the hardest hitting successful program in the league with a winning record of 7-2 and made the regional finals.

This year the Raiders did not disappoint. They captured the league championship and were undefeated the entire regular season. The RAIDERS scored 351 points and allowed only 81. In the semi-finals held at Polyvalent Ste Therese the Raiders beat les Conquerants by a score of 68-16.

In the Regional finals held in Deux Montagnes the RAIDERS defeated league rival and defending champions Lavigne Inuk 30-7 to capture Rosemere High school's first football championship.

The Rosemere Raiders capped off a historic season with memories that will last a lifetime. Lady luck was not on their side as they fell 47-30 in the Bol d`or final. To the home team College Levis Commandeurs. It was a heartbreaking defeat especially for the seniors. Falling behind early on some unfortunate bounces, the team never gave up and never quit.

The week-end was more that just a football game. It was a unique bonding and life experience. It was about how young men have grown together and become a family. It was about Respect. It was about Honour and it was about Sacrifice.

This crew of talented youths traveled up to Quebec City arriving at La Citadelle (an Army fort where French and British battled over Quebec), sleeping in the soldiers barracks overnight. The team was treated to an after-hours tour and history lesson of the fort including a canon being fired off.

Prior to Saturdays game, a team breakfast in the mess hall was followed by a pre game walk through on the Plains of Abraham.

The sacrifice would come in the game as the Raiders would be dealing with a differing referee/rules system and adversity throughout the game.

The kids never quit.  Exhausted, spent and battling/fighting uphill, the Raiders left all their heart out on that field.  It was a special weekend with a special group of young men.
