Grade Three
Oceanographers
The second novel read in our Language Arts class this year was Dolphins at Daybreak from the Magic Tree House series by Mary Pope Osborne. In the story, Jack and Annie travel to a tropical location where they find themselves entrapped in a mini-sub under the ocean. Wondrous things await them as they search for the answer to Morgan LeFay's riddle. The children make two new friends who help them to safety.
As a follow-up to our novel we will also be reading the information-based text to accompany the novel entitled Dolphins and Sharks. Students will come to better understand these amazing creatures and their habitats.
