As many of our students will be learning English for the first time, here are some ideas to help them. Studies show that the sooner your child acquires the language, the more successful they will be throughout their elementary schooling career.

Surprisingly one of the best ways to learn a new language is television. Students should be watching at least 80% of their TV in English.

Speak English at home as much as possible. If neither you nor your spouse speak English, ask your child to teach you!

Read English books.

Point out any English that you might hear in public. Children need to know that the language does exist outside of the classroom.
