Appointment of a new Director of School Affairs and School Organization
Rosemère, September 1, 2026 — The Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Tania Marchitello as Director of School Affairs and School Organization (SASO). Ms. Marchitello succeeds Ms. Florence Delorme, who held the position before being appointed Director General in July 2026.
Ms. Marchitello has more than 20 years of experience in education and has extensive knowledge of the SWLSB, having served as a teacher, pedagogical consultant and school administrator in both high school and elementary schools.
Before this appointment, she served as principal of Hillcrest Academy from 2023 to 2026, following six years as principal of John F. Kennedy Elementary School from 2017 to 2023.
“Ms. Marchitello is a respected educational leader who knows our schools, our communities, and our organization very well. Her experience, along with her collaborative approach to leadership, will be an asset to this important role. On behalf of the Council of Commissioners, I congratulate her and wish her much success,” said Chairperson James Di Sano.
Throughout her career, Ms. Marchitello has focused on student success, pedagogical improvement, leadership development and creating positive school environments. She is also recognized for building strong relationships and supporting both students and staff.
In her new role, Ms. Marchitello will oversee a department that works closely with elementary and secondary school administrators and will be responsible for school organization, student registration and eligibility, out-of-zone requests and interboard agreements, complaint management, international students, and daycare services.
With a workforce of more than 2,000 employees, the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board is the third-largest English school board in Québec. Its territory comprises the administrative regions of Laval, Laurentides, and Lanaudière. The school board provides preschool, elementary, secondary, and adult education and vocational training services to over 14,000 students in 36 schools and 4 centres, as well as business training services.
