BY-ELECTION – ELECTORAL DIVISION 9* | Sunday, March 22, 2026

Following the resignation of the Commissioner representing Electoral Division no. 9 and in accordance with provincial legislation, a by-election must be held when a vacancy occurs more than a year before the next general school election.

At its November 26 meeting, the Council of Commissioners appointed Lorraine Sperano Gauthier as returning officer to oversee this by-election.

REGISTRATION ON THE SIR WILFRID LAURIER SCHOOL BOARD ELECTORAL LIST FOR DIVISION 9

To vote in the upcoming by-election, eligible voters must reside in Electoral Division 9 and be registered on the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board (SWLSB) electoral list. You can verify whether you are registered to vote here: https://evoox.ca/csswl/mbv/  ONLY electors residing in Electoral Division 9 can use this tool to verify if they are registered on the electoral list of that division (see map).

To be on the list of electors for Electoral Division 9, a person must, on March 22, 2026:

  • Be 18 years or older;
  • Be a Canadian citizen;
  • Live in Electoral Division 9 (see map);
  • Have lived in Québec for at least six (6) months;
  • Not have lost the right to vote due to a tutorship;
  • Not have been convicted in the last five (5) years of an electoral offence;

It is to be noted that SWLSB parents residing in Electoral Division 9 should already be on our electoral list. Should your name not appear on the list or should the information associated to your name be wrong, you must submit an application at one of the locations and times mentioned below. You must present two proofs of identity when submitting your application (one showing your name and date of birth, and one showing your name and current address).

The locations, dates, and times to view the electoral list for Electoral Division 9 or submit an application are the following:

  • February 23 – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • February 24 – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • February 26 – 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
