Council of Commissioners

The Council of Commissioners is composed of 13 members: one chairperson, nine commissioners and three parent commissioners:
one representing the elementary level, one representing the secondary level and one representing the SEAC.

The mandate of the elected commissioners is four years, and the mandate of the parent commissioners is two years.

Mr. James Di Sano is the Chairperson of the Council of Commissioners.

For the 2026-2027 school year, the Council will meet on the following dates.

Council meetings are usually held at 7:30 p.m. in the boardroom of the school board head office in Rosemère. These meetings are open to the public and two public question periods are scheduled, one at the beginning and one at the end of each meeting. Council meetings are also broadcast live.

Question Period

The agenda provides for two 20-minute question periods, one at the beginning and one at the end of each meeting. The purpose of these question periods is restricted to answering questions only, and not to enter into debates or conversations.

For the first question period, questions are to be addressed to the Chairperson and submitted by 1 p.m. the day of the meeting, either by fax (450 621­-7929) or by email (jthompson@swlauriersb.qc.ca).

The second question period is restricted to questions pertaining to agenda items discussed at the meeting.

Members of the public attending the meeting online can enter their questions in the “Q&A Section” of the website on which the meeting is being viewed. We ask that you type your full name before each question.

The Chairperson shall provide all available answers for each question.
