REQUEST FOR A DEROGATION TO THE AGE OF ADMISSION TO KINDERGARTEN FOR 5-YEAR-OLDS
According to section 241.1 of the Education Act and the Regulation Respecting Exceptional Cases for Admission to Preschool and Elementary School Education (CQLR, c.1-13.3), a child who is ready to begin preschool owing to their advanced intellectual, social, emotional and psychomotor skills but has not attained the age of admission may be admitted in certain circumstances.
Parents must forward the following documents to the school no later than April 3, 2026:
- The Request for Derogation form completed by the parents;
- An official letter by the parents to the school principal stating the reason for their request for the early admission of their child;
- A copy of the assessment report completed by the psychologist;
- The Daycare Checklist form completed by the childcare educator;
- The Consent for Information form completed by the parents indicating the name and information of the daycare and psychologist.
