PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that, in accordance with section 212 of the Education Act and policy no. 2007-TS-02: Policy Concerning the Continued Operation or Closure of Schools and Any Modifications Pertaining to Educational Services, the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board calls for two public assemblies, which will be held in the auditorium of Laval Junior Academy, located at 2323, boul. Daniel-Johnson, Laval, Québec, H7T 1H8.

During both assemblies, proposals will be presented to optimize the use of our infrastructure in the Laval region. The proposals include the review of school attendance zones (the transfer of some students from one school to another), the closure of schools (the transfer of all students from one school to another), changes to the use of buildings (including changes to the use of an entire building), and modifications to the educational services offered in said buildings.

OCTOBER 6, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

Proposals presented will relate to the areas of Duvernay, Vimont, and Auteuil, more specifically: Saint-Vincent, Saint-Paul, and Terry-Fox Elementary Schools, Phoenix Alternative School, and Centre de développement des compétences Vimont (CDC Vimont).

OCTOBER 8, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.

Proposals presented will relate to the areas of Fabreville and Chomedey, more specifically: Souvenir, Twin-Oaks, Our Lady of Peace, and Crestview Elementary Schools.

During the assemblies, the public will be provided with information regarding the consultation timeline, as well as an outline of the financial and pedagogical implications of the proposed changes and their impact on the affected school communities. Any member of the public will have the opportunity to submit a written brief to the school board during the consultation period. A section of the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board website has been dedicated to this consultation to ensure that our communities receive all relevant information in a timely manner. Please note that no change will be in effect prior to July 1, 2027.
