Mass Notification System Tools

The Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board uses the SchoolMessenger Communicate system to deliver text messages straight to your mobile device concerning important information about snow days, school closings and other emergency situations.

You can receive SMS texts by sending a text message of “Y” or “Yes” to our school board’s short code number, 978338. You can also opt out at any time by simply replying to one of our messages with “Stop”.

SchoolMessenger is compliant with the Student Privacy PledgeTM, so you can rest assured that your information is safe and will never be given or sold to anyone. To receive our SMS notifications, your mobile device phone number must be indicated in your child’s record.

By law, we must get the user’s permission to send SMS messages to any mobile device. We do not charge for the text messages that you receive or send to us through our short code number; however, wireless
providers may charge for individual text messages, depending on the plan associated with the wireless device. Please consult your carrier if you are uncertain.

For the Communicate system to be effective, your contact information must be up to date to receive notifications. Parents and guardians can validate and update their contact details through the Mozaïk Parent Portal by following the instructions in this video.
